Top-class handball teams look for greatness in Graz at EHF Finals Women 2025
Graz will host the EHF Finals Women for the third consecutive year in 2025. On Saturday 3 and Sunday 4 May, the event will put Austria on the centre stage of international women’s handball again, five months after the country co-hosted the Women’s EHF EURO 2024 with Hungary and Switzerland in December 2024.
The Raiffeisen Sportpark Graz is expected to welcome a 3,000-capacity crowd for the EHF Finals Women 2025, which are organised by EHF Marketing in cooperation with SPORTUNION and Raiffeisen Sportpark Graz.
The final tournament of the EHF European League Women 2024/25 features four leading teams from Europe, who are all eyeing the main prize in the continental second-tier women’s club competition, which is fittingly characterised by its slogan: ‘ALL IN – Greatness is earned.’
Tickets for the EHF Finals Women 2025 can be purchased as of now. All tickets are available in two categories and are valid for both playing days – the semi-finals on Saturday, and the third-place match and final on Sunday. Prices start at €65.
Michael Wiederer, EHF President, said: “Establishing Graz as the destination for the EHF Finals marks a huge opportunity for the continuous development of the EHF Finals and of the EHF European League as a whole. Drawing on the experiences and processes of the previous years, the platform has been built to create an even better in 2025. For the second year in a row, all four final events, the EHF Finals in Graz and Hamburg and the EHF FINAL4s in Budapest and Cologne will be played on neutral ground. It’s a telltale sign for the long way our club competitions have and the opportunities that these events bear for all stakeholder groups involved.”
Elke Kahr, Mayor of Graz, said: “As a mayor, I am proud that Graz will host the EHF Finals for the third time because it shows that our city is very well positioned in both grassroots and elite sport. Team sports have always fascinated me. Working together to achieve success, but also having to put up with unpleasant moments together, is a formative experience, both in sport and in all areas of life. Teamwork is also necessary for all those who work in the background to ensure that such a large event runs smoothly and is an unforgettable experience for everyone.”
The long road to the EHF Finals Women 2025 started with the first qualification round in October; the second round will be completed in November, which then confirms the line-up for the 16-team group phase in January and February. Only the two best teams from each group continue their journey in the quarter-finals in March, with the four winners stamping their ticket to Graz.
All fans that cannot make it to Graz in person in May 2025 will have more than enough options to follow all the action from wherever they are. Based on the excellent figures from the 2024 edition, the EHF Finals Women 2025 are expected to have a cumulative TV audience of more than 10 million and reach more than 1 million fans on social media. A total of 28 broadcasters will deliver all the action from Graz to more than 50 territories, while the matches will also be available worldwide on EHF’s own streaming platform EHFTV.
